Magnus serves as the Executive Officer of Churches Housing and hopes to see the Church become part of the solution to a growing affordability crisis in housing. He has previously served as an Assistant Director with ANGLICARE Sydney (Advocacy and Partnerships) and previously served as State Director with two different international Christian mission agencies (OMF International and then with OM Australia). In a previous lifetime he served with what is now called Fire and Rescue NSW as a professional fire-fighter and training officer. Magnus is passionate about God’s mission to express hope and love to all people, particularly the poor, the weak, the marginalised and the vulnerable. He also serves on the Executive Leadership team of a small missional church in Ermington, called Riverside.
Rob Powell – Project Manager
(MICT, M.A.(Theology), B.Th., Dip. Min., Dip. Comp.)
Rob serves as Project Officer looking after IT, Financial Modelling, Statistical Analysis, Research and CHP registration processes. He has served previously in the Anglican Church and worked in IT as a Systems Analyst with Wormald International and AGB Research. Rob currently worships at St Hilda’s Anglican Church in Katoomba. He is married to Kathy and has 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
Philippa Yelland – Research & Communications Officer
Philippa joined Churches Housing in January 2018 with deep experience in journalism, publishing and research. Her most recent work was as communications and marketing manager for a large, Sydney-based public company that specialised in financial services. From practical experience, Philippa knows that housing security, peacefulness and affordability are crucial for all people if they are to live good and satisfying lives. Her plea to political decision-makers is a rephrasing of John the Baptist: ‘If you have two houses, give one away.’ While Philippa currently attends C3 church, she has also been part of Anglican and Uniting congregations.
Kathy Goodfellow – Financial Officer
Kathy is an accountant who has worked in the not-for-profit sector for many years. She enjoys the flexibility of her role and working alongside a great team at CHI. Being part-time frees her to engage in volunteer roles outside of work. She and husband Bob attend Kellyville Anglican Church.
